ARTICLE III MEMBERS

Section 1.

Membership must consist of at least 51% of individuals that are legally blind and/or visually impaired.


Definitions

Legally blind individuals (defined herein as having best corrected vision no better than 20/200 in the better eye and / or a visual field of 20 degrees or less in the better eye)


Visually impaired individuals (defined herein as having best corrected vision no better than 20/70) who participate and compete in sports for the blind and visually impaired, as well as other persons who support the purposes of the S4TB, are eligible for membership.

                         

                         

Section 2.

All athletes Participating in sponsored / sanctioned events; guides, pilots and coaches assisting in Events; all S4TB committee and subcommittee members must be current S4TB members before they are permitted to participate in a S4TB-sanctioned event.

Individuals are allowed to participate as a guest no more than 2 times before they are required to become a member. Guest participants will be required to pay the non member fee for the event. on a case by case basis.  

Section 3.

Annual membership dues will be set by the Board of Directors and will be payable to S4TB. Dues are payable on or before January 31st of each year.

                         

Section 4.

The S4TB does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, physical or mental disability, Veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation or gender expression.

                         

Section 5.

The Board of Directors shall develop and publish rules and conditions under which members may be suspended / Expelled or reinstated.

                         

Section 6.

          Any suspension, probation or expulsion recommended to the S4TB Board of Directors shall be acted upon by the S4TB Board of Directors within 14 days. The member will be notified of the findings and subsequent action of the S4TB Board of Directors in a legal and acceptable format.
